Week 10

I fucking hate week ten.

We are damn near 20 years old and there is STILL an electronic ice cream cone tooth brush in our apartment....

Basically, I'm bored.

So I'm sitting in cultural anthropology learning about Ascribed status and achieved status and basically I'm bored. Some long haired kid keeps trying to define the different status' and he keeps getting it wrong.

OMG my teacher just said she "Hates monty python and doesn't get it. She didn't get it in college and she doesn't get it now" and shut this kids explanation down. She's so mean.

Umm right now I'm looking at peoples computer screens and someone is playing on Farmville on Facebook. I'm playing with photoshop. Someone is on Ichat...basically this class sucks.

So the news is that Aidan is on his way home today! :) Just a week after open heart surgery my cousin is recovered and back to full strength and able to go home!

I got the text around 12:17 that he was leaving Rochester! It put a smile on my exhausted face :)

I'll upload images from yesterday when I visited. Wayne had JUST come back from Syracuse for the day and he brought back two boxes for Aidan and maybe twelve or thirteen cards for him. One was from the whole 7th grade from Ed Smith school. I believe that was his favorite! It had a pop up "cellie" in the center of the card, that was pretty cool.

Sorry for the past two nights.

It's been a really busy time for me this week....and it's only Tuesday. So I'm apologizing for not uploading anything. I have several images from two days ago when I was last at the hospital. I'll upload those next. As far as I'm concerned Aidan is doing quite well. Here are some snip-its from the updates I get from my aunt:


February 1st, 2010
Today they decided that Aidan doesn't need extra oxygen and that although they are still monitoring his lungs - wanting them to be more fully expanded, he is breathing easier. So, we are all breathing easier. I stepped foot outside of the hospital today - first time since last Wed. and took a deep breath of the sun.

February 2nd, 2010
Another great night and day for us so far. The cardiac team wants Aidan to really work on deep breathing today so we have run of the hospital. If his X-ray looks good tomorrow we're blowing this nightclub!

Everything is sounding great with my cuz. And that puts me at ease. It sucks because this means I'm losing the privilege of having my family so close to me at school. I was starting to get used to it :-P

I'll miss them when they leave. But I'm glad all is well with my cousin!!!
